Cristina joined the team at Philip Law Office in 2014, after a career in Finance and in Commercial Law overseas. Cristina currently specialises in Estate Planning, Immigration Law, Property Law and Contract Law.
Cristina always felt a strong sense of community, as a child growing up in Communist Romania. Cristina grew up witnessing extreme hardship and injustice and envisioned herself making a difference from the time she was a child. This led her to Graduate from the Police Academy in Bucharest, Romania and then went on to pursue a career in Corporate Law, in her native country of Romania.
Cristina moved to New Zealand in 2005 with her young family and upon her arrival in Auckland, she was determined to help her community. She served as the Public Relations Officer for the Waitakere Ethnic Board and the Migrants Action Trust. She was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the leaders of the Migrants Action Trust for her outstanding contributions and dedication to the betterment of the Romanian Community in New Zealand.
Cristina’s proudest achievement is successfully re-qualifying as a Solicitor in New Zealand, whilst working full-time for a Finance company and raising two young children. Cristina worked in the highly regulated Finance Industry for over 10 years, prior to her Admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
She has worked in Compliance and Quality Assurance, Contract Review, Dispute Resolution and also dealt with Commerce Commission Complaints, whilst working for GE Money, New Zealand. She has also worked within the Legal Department of GE Money, prior to joining Philip Law Office.
In addition to her professional life, Cristina is an honorary member of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Romanian Parliament, for Romanian immigrants overseas. In her spare time, Cristina is passionate about aiding members of the community, as she offers pro bono legal services to the elderly at retirement villages. Cristina also volunteers her time in Broadcast community radio and has served as a producer for Planet Fm, promoting Christian gospel and values to the Romanian community since 2009. She also loves spending time with her husband and two young children, cooking and baking.
Cristina has a strong community-centred approach and ties to the community. She is determined to deliver justice and results for her clients in the face of dire odds. Cristina’s resilience drives her results for her clients and her commitment to her clients remains steadfast.
